Center-Based Program (for 3 & 4 Year Olds):

  • Children attend a classroom setting four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • There are two sessions: 7:45 am - 11:00 am and 12:00 pm - 3:15 pm.
  • All areas of development are addressed according to individual needs; physical, social-emotional, language and cognitive skills.
  • Parents or legal guardians are encouraged to volunteer their time in the program.
  • Each family enrolled in Head Start will receive two or more home visits during the school year.

Wrap-Around Program:

Head Start offers an all day option for parents or legal guardians who must work or attend school full time. The sites are located at the Kenosha County Job Center, 8600 Sheridan Road and the Pleasant Prairie Renaissance School, 10450 72nd Avenue. The hours are 7:30 am until 6:00 pm. Transportation must be provided by the family and payment is the responsibility of the family unless they qualify for child care subsidies. To be eligible, a family must show documentation that they are working or attending school full time. Enrollment is limited and is on a first come first served basis.
