Children With Special Needs

All children enrolled in the Head Start program receive developmental screenings. If a child is identified as having a possible disability, the Disabilities/Mental Health Coordinator, with the written permission of the parent, will obtain further evaluations and will assist parents in obtaining any specialized services the family needs.

If special services are needed, they will be provided by the local education authority and the Head Start Program according to the Individualized Education Plan.

Head Start provides services to all children regardless of their special needs.
